Itineraries

The Maldives really is one of the top diving destinations in the world. Spanning an area of 90,000 square kilometres, only 298 square kilometres is land – leaving the rest for us divers to explore! The 26 Atolls, containing 1,192 coral islands, are home to an array of different dive sites and underwater topography ranging from Thila’s (pinnacles) and Kandu’s (channels) to walls, sloping reefs and lagoons. The strict fishing laws and marine protected areas have enabled the Maldives to become a haven for marine life. Boasting rich biodiversity, the Maldives is one of the best locations to encounter both large and small marine animals, all year round:

  • Oceanic and reef manta rays
  • Whale sharks
  • Reef sharks (that are not scared of divers!)
  • Tiger, bull, hammerhead, spinner and thresher sharks
  • Turtles
  • Eagle rays and stingrays
  • Large schools of fish including snappers, red toothed triggerfish (friendly ones), curious batfish, napoleon, tuna, longfin bannerfish and fusiliers, to name just a few!
  • Nudibranch, ghost pipefish, frog fish and leaf fish
  • Incredible hard coral structures across the atolls, with soft corals decorating dive sites in certain areas and atolls.
